The Boeing Company is looking for a Software Manager (Mid-level) to join our Space Mission Systems team in Colorado Springs, CO. This team builds the next generation products and services for the BDS business unit. We work with commercial, government, and proprietary customers in the development of the next-generation technologies in space. Our group works all facets of engineering from technology investment, concept development, proposal writing, requirements, design, build, integration, test, and demonstration of products in their relevant environments. Responsibilities

  • Manage staffing needs and grow the skills/capabilities of the organization.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders and partners, providing oversight of technical approaches, products, and processes.
  • Solve complex problems and manage multiple tasks simultaneously, familiar with managing development projects and industry equivalent practices.
  • Support New Business Campaigns and work with the engineering community.
  • Forecast, obtain, and manage personnel to meet project and organizational requirements; acquire, deploy, and schedule personnel to meet organizational objectives.
  • Determine critical skills within an organization or functional area; develop and implement staffing plans to ensure necessary skills are available within the company.
  • Develop and motivate employees.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience leading or managing projects and/or teams.
  • 1+ years of experience working on and/or leading agile teams.
  • Experience in team building, leading cross-functional teams, motivating and engaging team members, and inspiring work groups through daily interactions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • Experience with satellite ground mission capabilities.
  • Experience with on-orbit engineering support.
  • Experience at successfully managing and being part of a complex IPT to produce results within budget, on schedule, and to performance requirements.
  • Experience with DevSecOps and continuous integration.
