About the position

The Mid-Level Software Integration & Testing Engineer will be responsible for performing system-level software integration and testing activities for Satellite Ground Station Command and Control applications. This role is crucial for ensuring system compatibility to meet program technical, schedule, and cost objectives, particularly within the Space Weather Ground Services (SWGS) program under NOAA's Space Weather Next (SWX) initiative. The engineer will work on integrating COTS-based systems and custom software, generating test procedures, and supporting the overall mission operations services.

Responsibilities

  • Perform system level software integration and test (I&T) activities for Satellite Ground Station Command and Control applications.
  • Generate test procedures for the validation and verification of software components.
  • Support test readiness reviews and formal system verification of the system requirements.
  • Organize, execute, and report on software testing.
  • Utilize RedHat Enterprise Linux to resolve configuration issues and integrate systems.
  • Create and modify bash scripts and write scripts in Python, Perl, Powershell, Java, C, etc.
  • Utilize JIRA in an Agile development environment.
  • Support development and maintenance of automated testing.

Requirements

  • Active Public Trust clearance
  • 8+ years of experience with a BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • Experience with software development methodologies and life cycles
  • Experience developing test scripts using Python, Perl, Powershell, Java, C, etc.
  • Experience with RedHat Linux
  • Experience working in a Cloud Environment using containerization
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment
  • Extensive experience with Windows OS and Microsoft Office products.
