About the position

We are seeking a highly motivated Systems Architect with an active TS/SCI clearance to design and implement cutting-edge solutions for the intelligence community. This role requires expertise in big data technologies (Spark, Elasticsearch), cloud platforms (AWS/GCS, GovCloud), AI/ML, and knowledge graph construction, along with experience supporting military/IC customers and navigating cybersecurity compliance. You'll translate complex requirements into robust architectures for advanced search and analytics within the Advana platform, collaborating with a diverse team to deliver mission-critical tools. Ideal candidates possess strong scripting skills (Python/R), experience with NLP/LLMs, and a proven track record of delivering successful outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and assess software development and data processing requirements and determine optimum, cost-effective solutions.
• Develop an understanding of the technical requirements, aligning them to business goals, and then translating them into architectures capable of handling complex search queries across collections of large datasets, utilizing the Advana platform.
• Support and work with a hybrid team of analysts, engineers, and developers to conduct research, and build and deploy complex, but easy-to-use search tools, analytical capabilities and/or devise a plan for development.
• Work with data scientists, UX designers, developers, and testers to compose cohesive and sound designs that form the basis of scalable solutions.
• Optimize software designs and architectures to deliver desired performance targets and devise tooling and methodologies to profile execution and capture performance metrics.

Requirements

• Possess an active TS/SCI clearance
• Have a Bachelor's degree with 5-7 years experience, or a Master's degree with 3 plus years of experience.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python/R) and big data programming languages (Python, Scala, Java).
• Ability to analyze requirements and decompose them into software designs across system components.
• Experience with Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, RDBMS concepts, and cloud-based RDBMS services.
• Experience with AWS/GCS, specifically GovCloud environments (C2S, SC2S, UC2S).
• Experience with cybersecurity compliance, secure software development, ATO processes, and supporting military/IC customers with mission-focused outcomes.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with natural language processing (NLP), Large Language Models (LLMs), and containerized/Apache Spark-based computing environments (e.g., Databricks) for unstructured text data processing
• Knowledge Graph construction and reasoning experience, including property graph model frameworks and Neo4j
• Experience leveraging existing COTS/GOTS/OS tools in unconventional manner
