About the position
Our client is seeking an IT Systems Engineer for their IT Operations Team. This position will be part of a larger team responsible for supporting the corporate computing environment both on-premises and in the cloud. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical depth and excellent communication skills, as well as an understanding of the importance of being part of a larger team. A willingness to work nights and weekends, along with being on-call to support the organization, is essential. This is a hybrid position requiring on-site presence three days a week at the headquarters located in Farmington Hills, MI.
Responsibilities
- Design and standardize system configurations
- Maintain Microsoft Windows Server, VMware Cluster and Data Storage environments
- Manage backup and recovery operations
- Maintain Azure virtual machine, storage, and networking
- Execute and maintain disaster recovery procedures
- Responsible for Incident Resolution and resolve all technical issues impacting production in a timely manner
- Manage projects and meet deliverables according to a set timeline
- Vulnerability resolution, work closely with Security, Compliance, and other teams to ensure vulnerabilities are resolved in a timely manner
- Adherence to Change Management Policies and Guidelines
- Create and maintain runbooks and automation.
Requirements
- Strong technical depth in IT systems engineering
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience with VMware, PowerShell scripting, Citrix, disaster recovery, and Azure Cloud
- Ability to work nights and weekends as needed
- On-call support availability
