The Mid Modeling and Simulation Software Engineer role at Booz Allen involves developing software solutions in a fast-paced, agile environment. Responsibilities

  • Develop software and systems from vision to production-ready solutions.
  • Identify needed system improvements and implement them.
  • Gather requirements from project teams and prioritize tasks.
  • Lead small cross-functional teams in software development.
  • Utilize Agile methodologies for team development.
  • Maintain web-based server applications and implement algorithms interfacing with relational databases.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience with software engineering in a Linux environment.
  • 2+ years of experience developing software using Python and Java.
  • 1+ years of experience in data modeling and working with metrics.
  • 1+ years of experience developing and maintaining web-based server applications.
  • Experience gathering requirements from project teams and determining priorities.
  • Experience leading small cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with Agile team development and Linux shell scripting.
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.
  • Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of experience with software engineering, or 6+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with unstructured databases, including Mongo and Elasticsearch.
  • Experience with graph databases, including Neo4J.
  • Experience with web page design in JavaScript, Angular, or Python Shiny.
  • Experience using Apache NiFi for data flow processing.
  • Experience using pig scripts for analytics against cloud data in HDFS.
  • Master's degree.
