About the position

Join ENERCON as a Mid/Senior Civil Structural Engineer within our Federal Services Group. This role involves developing calculations and designs for equipment mounting, foundations, and pipe supports, while ensuring compliance with industry codes and regulations. You will engage in exciting engineering projects that contribute to both nuclear and non-nuclear facilities, focusing on problem-solving and cost-effective solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design and analysis of changes to existing power plants and new plant systems.
  • Develop equipment mounting, foundation design, and pipe support calculations and designs.
  • Support engineering design and analysis projects for the power industry.
  • Read and understand design drawings and technical specifications to prepare project deliverables such as calculations, specifications, and engineering evaluations.
  • Perform reviews, assemble, and prepare design modification packages.
  • Develop specifications of structural components.
  • Conduct site walkdowns to identify design solutions and develop cost-effective problem resolutions.
  • Perform static equivalent and dynamic analysis of structures for seismic loads.
  • Familiarize with and apply industry codes and government regulations.
  • Design pipe supports and structures, particularly at nuclear power plants.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in power system design for mid-level engineer.
  • Minimum 7 years' experience in power system design for senior-level engineer.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in preparation of structural calculations is desired.
  • Knowledge of discipline-specific computer analysis codes and standard office production software.
  • Proficient in Word and Excel.
  • Familiar with the International Building Code and building code design.
  • Good writing, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as an individual contributor and in teams.
  • Familiar with concrete and steel design codes and working stress and ultimate strength design approaches.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
