About the position

ENERCON's Federal Services Group is seeking a Mid/Senior Mechanical Engineer to join the team based in one of the following locations: Kennesaw, GA, Fort Worth, TX, Dallas, TX, Kennewick, WA, Naperville, IL, or Aiken, SC. This role is pivotal in preparing error-free engineering documents and maintaining a thorough understanding of industry codes and standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for building strong client relationships and producing high-quality engineering deliverables that meet both client and ENERCON expectations. The responsibilities of this position include generating engineering-related documents in accordance with client, ENERCON, and regulatory requirements, while adhering to established procedures, processes, specifications, and project directives. The engineer will also be expected to maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry codes and standards, safety culture, and design techniques suitable for the nuclear industry. Additionally, the role involves consulting with other disciplines to ensure that designs are compatible and have considered all disciplinary requirements. Travel to plant sites is a requirement of this position, allowing the engineer to interface with client personnel and perform walk-downs of plant structures, systems, and components related to project work. Responsibilities

  • Prepare error-free engineering documents (e.g., drawings, sketches, instructions, inputs, calculations, analyses, evaluations) according to industry codes, standards, and regulations to support client engineering needs.
  • Generate engineering related documents in accordance with client, ENERCON, and regulatory requirements, adhering to client and ENERCON procedures, processes, specifications, and other company or project directives.
  • Maintain up to date and relevant knowledge of industry codes and standards, safety culture, and design techniques suitable to the nuclear industry.
  • Produce high quality engineering deliverables in accordance with client and ENERCON Quality Assurance (QA) Programs that are consistent with project work scopes and client expectations.
  • Build strong relationships with clients through professional interactions and communications, and through the development of quality engineering products.
  • Consult with other disciplines to ensure designs are compatible with and have considered all disciplinary requirements.
  • Travel to plant sites to interface with client personnel, and to perform walk downs of plant structures, systems, and components related to the project work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited university.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with design of mechanical systems for mid level engineer.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience with design of mechanical systems for senior level engineer.
  • Thermal-hydraulic and design modification experience desired.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in preparation of mechanical calculations.
  • Proficient in Word and Excel.
  • Good writing, presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in teams.
  • Ability to travel between 10-15% of the time; duration of travel may vary depending on project and client needs.
