About the position

The Mid Test Engineer role involves combining technical skills with strategic thinking to support a Tactical Satellite client. The engineer will be responsible for configuring, operating, automating, testing, and troubleshooting various satellite communication equipment. This position requires the development of test plans and procedures, as well as the integration of components and equipment related to Protected Anti-Jam Tactical SATCOM (PATS). The role emphasizes the importance of translating real-world needs into technical specifications to deliver effective engineering solutions.

Responsibilities

• Configure, operate, automate, test, and troubleshoot Test Terminal (T2) and Protected Tactical Enterprise Service (PTES) Joint Hub equipment.
• Develop test plans and procedures in support of equipment evaluation.
• Integrate PATS components and equipment, focusing on SATCOM, RF, and Modem waveform theory.
• Automate testing and data processing using macros, scripts, and software tools to create professional test reports.
• Train PATS team members on T2 and PTES Joint Hub.

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience with SATCOM Terminal and SATCOM Modem testing and evaluation.
• 1+ years of experience with SATCOM, RF, and Modem waveform theory.
• Experience establishing test and evaluation criteria.
• Knowledge of programming languages, including Python, Bash, Kubernetes, or Java.
• Ability to use automated test software.
• Ability to configure and troubleshoot basic LAN/WAN networks.
• Bachelor's degree in IT, CS, or Engineering and 2+ years of experience using test and evaluation equipment, or 5+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.

• Experience with JSON.

• Experience with SATCOM or RF in the WGS constellation.
• Experience working at a Teleport, STEP, SATCOM, or commercial site.
• Experience in a test lab or environment.

• TS/SCI clearance.
• PATS Enterprise or WGS Certification.
