About the position

Convent & Stuart Hall is seeking excellent candidates for teaching roles in Spanish within the school's K-12 Modern Language faculty serving Grades 5-8. Candidates should be compelling educational practitioners who are confident in their capacity to create and deliver a dynamic, engaging, and challenging curriculum to students. In addition to their teaching assignments, all teaching faculty are expected to contribute to the life of the school community in general. As an International Baccalaureate World School that offers the IB Diploma in grades 9 - 12, each Modern Language faculty member understands the value of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program that has a specific focus on language acquisition. Responsibilities

  • Create and deliver a dynamic and engaging Spanish curriculum for Grades 5-8.
  • Contribute to the life of the school community beyond teaching assignments.
  • Support the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program and its focus on language acquisition.
  • Adhere to and support the school's Health and Safety Plan for in-person teaching.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of students with diverse learning profiles.
  • Utilize a wide range of instructional technology tools in teaching.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and administrators to enhance the educational experience.

Requirements

  • A Master's degree and/or valid CA Teaching Credential is strongly preferred.
  • 3-5 years of relevant classroom teaching experience.
  • Independent and collaborative leadership skills.
  • Effective writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to develop, curate, and deliver courses in the school's curriculum, including IBDP and Advanced Placement courses.
  • Experience with collegiality and collaboration with other teachers and administrators.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learning needs.
  • Innovative, creative, and flexible teaching style.
  • Understanding of the developmental needs of students and effective learning strategies.
  • Demonstrated experience using instructional technology tools such as iPads, laptops, and Google Apps.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and willing to take initiative.
  • Excellent teamwork skills and ability to work well with students and adults.
  • Professionalism and ability to serve as a role model.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with independent schools is strongly preferred.
