About the position

Somerset Academy Canyons is seeking a dynamic and innovative Athletic Trainer for the 2025-2026 school year, starting in June. The role involves providing comprehensive athletic training services, managing the Athletic Training Room, and ensuring the safety and well-being of student-athletes in a supportive educational environment.

Responsibilities

• Handle athletic training services, including evaluation and rehabilitation of injured athletes.
• Maintain the overall Sports Medicine program, including injury prevention, evaluations, and treatment.
• Provide athletic training services during scheduled team practices and competitions.
• Review pre-participation physical examinations and coordinate medical referrals for student-athletes.
• Manage the Athletic Training Room, including medical inventory and budgetary items.
• Assist the Athletic Director with safety and medical concerns for athletic events.
• Evaluate and recommend new techniques, equipment, and policies for the sports medicine program.
• Maintain up-to-date records and documentation as required by the school.
• Enforce and uphold the school's mission, vision, values, and policies.
• Work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Adhere to child abuse reporting requirements and laws.
• Engage in opportunities for professional growth.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree (or above) in a relevant field.
• 2-3 years of post-educational experience in athletic training or a related field.
• Valid Certified Athletic Trainer certification.
• Valid Teaching Certification license (preferred).
