The Credit Portfolio Manager II (CPM), Middle Market plays a crucial role in the financial analysis necessary for making informed credit decisions on both new and existing business ventures. This position supports the commercial banking team by recommending credit solutions that add significant value to customers. The CPM is responsible for managing a designated portfolio of Middle Market commercial loans, ensuring compliance with loan agreements, regulatory requirements, and underwriting and risk rating policies. This role involves overseeing the overall risk profile of the portfolio, identifying potential macro and micro risk issues early on, whether they are positive or negative. In addition to credit management, the CPM provides leadership in people management by hiring top talent, setting performance goals, developing staff, and managing employee performance and compensation decisions. The role requires managing complex credit activities to ensure that performance quality and consistency of underwriting meet or exceed customer expectations. The CPM may also lead the creation and introduction of commercial and credit-related initiatives, acting as a consultant to business lines regarding credit issues, processes, and procedures. The CPM collaborates closely with Lending/Credit Officers to address exceptions identified by internal and external auditors and examiners, and coordinates with Relationship Managers to conduct routine financial analyses and credit investigations. This position also involves managing workflow and adherence to policy within the department, participating in organizational cost-benefit analyses, and ensuring the confidentiality of credit and customer information at all times.
