About the position

Insperity is seeking a Middle Market Payroll Specialist to join our team in Kennesaw, GA. This position is pivotal in acting as a trusted advisor and client service professional, providing timely and accurate advice around payroll compliance while delivering payroll solutions that positively impact our clients' businesses and foster client retention. The role involves troubleshooting various situations, educating clients, developing partnerships with stakeholders, and creating an environment that demonstrates the depth, breadth, and level of care that adds value to the Insperity relationship. Under moderate supervision, the Payroll Specialist will create and maintain relationships with Middle Market clients, supporting Insperity's revenue, expense, and growth targets. This includes onboarding and maintaining assigned clients with various company structures across multiple states/localities, ensuring accurate and timely implementation of payroll and related services. The specialist will analyze payroll data provided by clients for accuracy and completeness, input and balance payroll data, process payroll, and review payroll reports for accuracy, distributing them to clients in a timely manner. Compliance with payroll laws and regulations is a critical aspect of this role, ensuring that both Insperity and the client adhere to all applicable laws. The Payroll Specialist will actively contribute to ongoing business meetings with key internal partners to share tactical and strategic opportunities that enhance payroll and human resources service delivery. This position may require travel to client worksites for meetings, training, and discussions to address client needs and support their perception of the value derived from Insperity's services. Additionally, the Payroll Specialist will serve as a mentor and subject matter expert for Field Payroll Operations personnel, supporting client satisfaction through quality service checks and observations. The role involves researching and analyzing client needs related to payroll processing and operations, maintaining knowledge of financial operations related to payroll for middle-market businesses, and identifying service solutions to enhance payroll delivery. The specialist will also support process and audit efforts to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley regulations, maintain knowledge of payroll administration laws, and provide customer-focused interactions to ensure timely responses to client requests.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Six to eight years of experience in payroll administration or related field required.
  • Minimum of two years of Insperity or PEO industry payroll experience preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in payroll administration and knowledge of payroll laws and regulations.
  • Customer service skills in a team environment.
  • Expertise in collaborating with multiple functional experts for service delivery.
  • Demonstrated leadership behaviors with peers and other internal/external constituents.
  • Strong time management, organizational, and facilitation skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • CPP Certification preferred.
  • Experience in handling multiple tasks efficiently and timely.
  • Understanding of various HR disciplines and their impact on payroll.
