About the position
The Chelmsford Public Schools is now accepting applications for the position of ABA Paraprofessional for the 2024-2025 school year. The successful candidate will work with middle school students to support them in academic, social, and communication tasks in the school setting. Responsibilities include following and implementing curriculum and behavioral support plans, as well as collecting data consistently for assigned students. An interest in working with students with exceptionalities is required, and experience with an Applied Behavior Analysis approach is preferred. The role involves collaboration as part of an interdisciplinary team of teachers, BCBA, and related service providers.
Responsibilities
- Support students academically, emotionally, behaviorally, and socially in the school setting.
- Assist students with toileting as needed.
- Follow and implement curriculum and behavioral support plans.
- Collect data consistently for assigned students.
- Implement accommodations and modifications as directed by teachers and related service providers.
- Follow and implement a behavior support plan.
Requirements
- Must be ABA trained (Applied Behavior Analysis); district can/will provide ABA training.
- High school diploma and a minimum of 2 years of college education.
- Knowledge and understanding of ASD disability.
- Knowledge of school classroom procedures, including preparation and maintenance of records.
- Knowledge of special education procedures.
- Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities at the identified school level: elementary, middle, or high school.
- Experience working with age-appropriate students in a school setting.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience working with students with exceptionalities.
- Familiarity with Applied Behavior Analysis approaches.
