About the position

The Middle School and High School Science Teacher (Long-Term Substitute) at Willows Preparatory School is responsible for providing instructional coverage during a parental leave. This temporary position requires teaching a combination of IB MYP Science courses to both middle and high school students. The ideal candidate will have experience in teaching science at these levels and will be committed to fostering a collaborative and inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop instructional experiences with clearly defined learning objectives.
• Deliver instruction in a learner-focused environment.
• Integrate formative assessment throughout instruction and utilize results to modify and extend instruction.
• Provide feedback to learners and their families via a school management system.
• Engage in collaboration with colleagues within the same department and interdisciplinary teams.
• Participate in family and carer partnership events and lead clubs or projects.

Requirements

• Must hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Valid Teacher certification or equivalent education/experience.
• Experience teaching middle school or high school science.
• Ability to create curriculum if needed.
• Proficient in educational technology.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience teaching in the International Baccalaureate Programme.
• Endorsement(s) in secondary subject area preferred.
