About the position

Summit Academy North is seeking a passionate and creative Middle School Art Teacher for the 2024/2025 school year. This full-time position is ideal for an individual who is enthusiastic about fostering creativity and innovation in the classroom. The successful candidate will hold a valid teaching certification and endorsement, and will be dedicated to working with a diverse population of students in a safe and family-friendly environment. At Summit Academy North, we pride ourselves on our vibrant educational community, which has been nurturing students from Preschool through 12th grade for over 25 years. Our school, located in Romulus, MI, serves more than 1,600 students and is characterized by energetic classrooms, shared leadership, and collaborative teaching practices. Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging art curriculum for middle school students.
• Foster a creative and inclusive classroom environment.
• Assess and evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to enhance the educational experience.
• Participate in professional development and mentoring programs.
• Organize and oversee art exhibitions and student showcases.

Requirements

• Valid Teaching Certification and endorsement in Art Education.
• Experience in teaching art at the middle school level.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse student population.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in mentoring other teachers or students.
• Background in integrating technology into art education.
• Knowledge of various art techniques and mediums.
