About the position

The Assistant Principal/Athletic Director is responsible for overseeing the extracurricular and intramural athletics program within the district. This role involves ensuring compliance with various regulations, managing building operations, and fostering community involvement in athletics. The position requires strong leadership skills to recruit, train, and evaluate athletic department personnel while also contributing to the development of building improvement plans.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage the overall program of extracurricular and intramural athletics for the District.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, KSHSAA, and local requirements for athletics.
  • Recruit, select, train, supervise, and evaluate all athletic department personnel.
  • Develop training options and improvement plans for athletic department employees.
  • Articulate the District's mission and goals in athletics to the community and solicit support.
  • Participate in the development of building improvement plans with staff, parents, and community members.
  • Initiate activities to meet district and community needs and encourage parent involvement.

Requirements

  • Valid Principal Certification license in the State of Kansas or eligibility for it.
  • Master's degree in education or related field.
  • Valid driver's license.
