Trinity Episcopal School seeks a highly qualified Middle School Athletic Trainer for the 2024-25 school year. This position is integral to the school's athletic programs, providing essential coverage and support for student-athletes. The Athletic Trainer will serve as the primary substitute for the school nurse, ensuring that all health and safety protocols are adhered to during athletic activities. The role requires a commitment to the holistic development of students, aligning with the school's mission to nurture the academic, social, physical, emotional, and spiritual growth of each child. The Athletic Trainer will practice within the parameters of the Texas Athletic Trainers Licensing Law and adhere to the Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics set forth by the National Athletic Trainers Association. Responsibilities include being present at all home athletic contests, some away contests, and all athletic practices, which typically occur in the afternoons and evenings, with some weekend events. The trainer will establish an effective athletic training program for Middle School student-athletes, providing first aid, injury assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and reconditioning as necessary. Additionally, the trainer will coordinate and collect required athletic physicals and supervise the clearance of injured athletes prior to and during the sport seasons. Communication with parents regarding the care and treatment of their student-athletes is crucial, as is maintaining accurate records of all athletic injuries and incidents. The Athletic Trainer will also be responsible for preparing first aid bags for coaches, providing ice and water for athletic teams, and monitoring environmental risks during games and practices. This position reports directly to the Director of Athletics and Physical Education and is a ten-month role, beginning in mid-August and concluding in mid-June, with a salary paid over 12 months to maintain benefit status throughout the school year.
