About the position

The Middle School Athletics Running Club Coach position is a vital role within the Community Education department, focusing on fostering a positive and engaging environment for middle school students participating in running activities. The coach will be responsible for leading the running club at Cottage Grove, Lake, and Woodbury Middle Schools, with practices scheduled on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from September 9 to October 14. This role requires a strong background in coaching running, as well as a basic understanding of the sport to effectively guide and motivate young athletes. Successful candidates will demonstrate a commitment to teaching and modeling character and responsible behavior, ensuring that all participants not only improve their running skills but also develop important life skills. The coach will work closely with parents, staff, and community leaders to create a supportive atmosphere that encourages students to set and achieve personal goals.
