About the position

The Middle School Building Site Manager is responsible for overseeing the custodial care of the assigned facility, ensuring it operates in excellent condition to support optimal educational use. This role involves managing custodial staff, maintaining safety standards, and coordinating with various departments to ensure the facility meets quality and operational expectations.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the opening and securing of the facility for a school day, activities, or occupancy.
• Responsible for scheduling assignments for custodial staff.
• Supervises 4-8 employees and participates in the general cleaning of the facilities.
• Implements Quality Assurance programs to ensure expected quality standards are met.
• Receives inventory control supplies and equipment, maintaining necessary inventories.
• Certifies time records of all custodial personnel for salary payments.
• Evaluates the performance of custodial staff on an annual basis.
• Ensures the general security of the building.
• Maintains knowledge of locations and operations of fire control extinguishers and ensures general fire safety of the building.
• Trains custodial employees under their supervision.
• Coordinates with Central Maintenance regarding custodial responsibilities during remodeling and renovation work.
• Maintains district approval allocation of labor resources for the assigned area.
• Performs emergency repairs or cleaning services as needed.
• Coordinates with the energy manager on custodial responsibilities related to energy management policy.
• Monitors and regulates comfort levels (temperature) in consultation with Central Maintenance and the Energy manager.

Requirements

• Experience as a site manager for custodial services, preferably in an educational environment.
• Managerial level communication skills, both verbal and written.
