About the position
As an ELA Teacher at Springfield Prep, you will join a mission-driven community where collaboration and co-teaching are the norms. The school emphasizes professional development, providing weekly 1-on-1 coaching in your first year and bi-weekly coaching for all teachers. The schedule includes built-in time for professional development and team meetings, with students dismissing at 12:30 pm on Fridays to accommodate this. You will have access to resources, support, and planning time to develop and refine curriculum and lesson plans, allowing you to focus on teaching while being supported by incredible Operations, Student Support, and School Culture teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop and continuously improve an engaging, rigorous, and culturally responsive curriculum for Middle School students.
- Provide engaging, motivating, and rigorous instruction in whole class, small group, and individual settings.
- Use student achievement data to drive and differentiate instruction, ensuring all students can achieve at the highest levels.
- Build relationships with students and families to create a positive classroom culture with high expectations and respect for diverse backgrounds and identities.
- Teach and uphold school-wide expectations and systems for student behavior.
- Grow as an educator through weekly coaching and professional development.
Requirements
- Must have earned a Bachelor's degree by the start of the school year.
- Classroom teaching experience and/or certification(s) are highly preferred.
