About the position
The Middle School English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher at Stride, Inc. is a remote position responsible for delivering course content in an online environment. This role focuses on providing instruction, support, and guidance to middle school students, managing their learning processes, and addressing individual needs. The teacher will monitor student progress, collaborate with families and learning coaches, and participate in occasional travel for school functions such as state testing.
Responsibilities
- Provide rich and engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for students.
- Commit to personalizing learning for all students.
- Demonstrate a belief in all students' ability to succeed and meet high expectations.
- Differentiate instruction based on student level of mastery.
- Augment course content according to prescribed policies and procedures using appropriate tools under guidance from principal and coach.
- Maintain grade book ensuring student academic integrity and make student placement and promotion decisions.
- Prepare students for high stakes standardized tests.
- Establish and maintain positive rapport with families and regularly communicate with students and learning coaches/parents.
- Support learning coaches/parents with student curricular and instructional issues and basic troubleshooting in a virtual classroom environment.
- Travel as required for face-to-face professional development, student testing, and as required by school.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in education or related field.
- Active state teaching license in Oklahoma.
- Ability to clear required background check.

- Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers.
- Receptive to receiving coaching regularly with administrators and teacher trainers.
