About the position

The Middle School English Language Arts (ELA) teacher is a remote, state-certified educator responsible for delivering course content in an online environment. This role involves providing instruction, support, and guidance to students, managing the learning process, and focusing on individual student needs. The teacher monitors student progress, collaborates with families and learning coaches, and participates in occasional travel for school functions such as state testing.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for students.
• Differentiate instruction based on student mastery levels.
• Maintain a grade book ensuring academic integrity and make placement decisions.
• Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests.
• Establish and maintain positive rapport with families and communicate regularly with students and learning coaches.
• Support learning coaches/parents with curricular and instructional issues in a virtual classroom environment.
• Travel as required for professional development and student testing.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in education or related field.
• Active state teaching license in Oklahoma.
• Ability to clear required background check.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and interpret student data.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms.
