About the position

The Teacher position at Ohio Virtual Academy (OHVA) is a full-time role responsible for delivering online education to students. This role emphasizes individualized instruction, student engagement, and collaboration with families to support student learning. Teachers are expected to manage the learning process, monitor student progress, and adapt teaching methods to meet diverse student needs, all while working primarily from home.

Responsibilities

• Deliver specific course content in an online environment.
• Provide instruction, support, and guidance to students.
• Manage the learning process and focus on individual student needs.
• Monitor student progress through the learning management system.
• Collaborate with students and parents/Learning Coaches to advance learning goals.
• Conduct live synchronous teaching for a minimum of 15 hours per week.
• Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests.
• Communicate high expectations and show active interest in student achievement.
• Submit grades and maintain a grade book, ensuring academic honesty and integrity.
• Establish and maintain positive rapport with families and communicate regularly with students and learning coaches.

Requirements

• State certification as a teacher.
• Ability to work independently and manage a professional home office.
• Experience in online education or virtual teaching environments.
