About the position

The Middle School Intervention Specialist is responsible for providing targeted support and intervention to students who require additional assistance in their academic and social development. This role focuses on creating individualized education plans (IEPs), collaborating with teachers and parents, and implementing effective strategies to help students succeed in a middle school environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure effective intervention strategies are in place.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as necessary to meet educational goals.
  • Provide direct instruction and support to students in both one-on-one and small group settings.
  • Conduct assessments to identify student needs and measure progress.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of school-wide intervention programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field.
  • Valid teaching license in Special Education.
  • Experience working with middle school students with diverse learning needs.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Special Education or related field.
  • Experience with behavior management strategies.
  • Familiarity with assistive technology and adaptive learning tools.
