About the position

Hayward Twin Oaks Montessori School is seeking an experienced Middle School Art Teacher for the 2024-25 school year. This part-time position is ideal for a passionate educator who is committed to fostering a creative and supportive learning environment for middle school students. The school, located in the heart of the Bay Area, is a unique institution that combines the principles of Montessori education with a college preparatory curriculum. As the first accredited Montessori public high school in the nation, we pride ourselves on creating a community where students can thrive academically and personally. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing an engaging art curriculum that aligns with the Montessori philosophy. This includes creating lesson plans that encourage self-directed learning and creativity, while also accommodating the diverse learning styles and abilities of our students. The Art Teacher will work closely with other faculty members to integrate art into the broader educational experience, promoting interdisciplinary learning and collaboration among students. In addition to teaching responsibilities, the Art Teacher will be expected to participate in school events, exhibitions, and community outreach programs that showcase student work and foster a love for the arts. Requirements
