About the position

Somerset Academy of Las Vegas - Skye Canyon Campus is seeking a dedicated and passionate 7th Grade PE Teacher and Athletic Director to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to working with children and will be eager to contribute to a positive and engaging learning environment. This position is full-time and requires a valid Nevada teaching license, along with a Bachelor's degree. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing lesson plans, managing athletic programs, and ensuring compliance with athletic regulations. This role also involves creating a safe and clean classroom environment, developing professional relationships with students and parents, and effectively communicating with staff and administration. We are looking for someone who can inspire trust, model high standards of integrity, and work collaboratively with others to foster a supportive educational atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• Implement lesson plans and lesson strategies as it pertains to the classroom
• Maintain classroom safety and cleanliness
• Manage athletic programs
• Ensure compliance with athletic regulations
• Schedule games and practices
• Create an open-door policy for students and parents/caregivers
• Develop a professional relationship with parents, caregivers, and students
• Communicate effectively with other teachers, coaches, students, and school administrators
• Participate in staff meetings and training sessions

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• Valid Nevada teaching license
• Ability to pass a pre-employment criminal history background check and fingerprinting
