About the position

Springfield Prep is seeking a dedicated Science Teacher to join our mission-driven community. Teaching at Springfield Prep is unique due to our emphasis on co-teaching and collaboration, ensuring that educators work together towards a common goal. New teachers will benefit from weekly one-on-one coaching in their first year, with bi-weekly coaching for all teachers thereafter. Our schedule includes built-in professional development and team meeting time, allowing students to dismiss early on Fridays to accommodate this. Teachers will have access to resources, support, and planning time to develop and refine their curriculum and lesson plans, backed by incredible Operations, Student Support, and School Culture teams that allow educators to focus on teaching.

Responsibilities

• Develop and continuously improve an engaging, rigorous, and culturally responsive curriculum for Middle School students.
• Provide engaging, motivating, and rigorous instruction in whole class, small group, and individual settings.
• Use student achievement data to drive and differentiate instruction, ensuring all students can achieve at the highest levels.
• Build relationships with students and families to create a positive classroom culture with high expectations and respect for diverse backgrounds.
• Teach and uphold school-wide expectations and systems for student behavior.
• Grow as an educator through weekly coaching and professional development.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree by the start of the school year.
• Commitment to the school schedule from 7:25 am to 3:50 pm.

Nice-to-haves

• Classroom teaching experience and/or certification(s) are highly preferred.
