About the position

The Middle School Science Teacher is responsible for providing direct educational services to students, utilizing effective teaching methods and techniques under the direction of the School Principal. The role involves preparing lesson plans aligned with the Science and Technology curriculum, collaborating with colleagues, and engaging students through hands-on learning experiences.

Responsibilities

• Prepares standards-aligned lesson plans that follow the Science and Technology curriculum.
• Collaborates with teammates about best practices and teaching strategies that support student learning.
• Collaborates with teachers in other content areas to produce cross-curricular projects and assignments.
• Engages students in the Science program using a hands-on learning approach.
• Maintains accurate records and communicates with colleagues, administration, and families.
• Uses data collected from assessments to inform instruction.
• Attends meetings, conferences, and participates in special events of the school and agency.
• Maintains an accurate and complete gradebook and communicates regularly with families regarding student performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in education or a related field from a four-year College or University.
• Certification by the Wisconsin Department of Instruction (Science license preferred).
• At least one year of previous teaching experience in a related area is preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge, including Excel, Word, and Google Forms.
