About the position
The Blake School is seeking a creative and reflective Middle School Social Studies Teacher to engage students in exploring both United States histories and global developments. The role involves collaborating with colleagues to design inquiry-based units that encourage students to investigate contemporary issues and develop essential skills in reading, research, academic conversation, and writing. Responsibilities
- Collaborate with department partners to design inquiry-based units within the grade-level curriculum.
- Guide student inquiry about contemporary issues related to history.

- Utilize best practices in project-based learning and historical-thinking skills.
- Develop foundational skills in reading, research, academic conversation, and writing.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Education or related field.
- 5-7 years of experience teaching social studies or related subjects.
- Experience working with adolescents in an educational setting.
