About the position
The Middle School Spanish Immersion Faculty position at Redlands Christian School is responsible for instructing students in various subjects in Spanish, supporting the school's mission through effective teaching practices. The role emphasizes professional growth in a dual-language immersion environment, fostering a respectful and collaborative atmosphere among faculty and staff, and integrating faith into the educational experience.
Responsibilities
- Instructs students by lecturing, demonstrating, and using audiovisual aids and other materials to supplement presentations.
- Prepares course objectives and outlines for the course of study following curriculum guidelines.
- Assigns lessons and corrects homework, quizzes, tests, and projects in a timely manner.
- Administers tests to evaluate student progress and communicates results to parents.
- Maintains discipline in the classroom and demonstrates effective classroom management skills.
- Communicates with parents to discuss student progress and issues.
- Participates in faculty meetings, professional development, and educational conferences.
- Seeks additional support for students' academic, emotional, and spiritual needs.
- Performs related duties such as recess monitoring and small group leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university.
- One to two years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid teaching credential required.
- Advanced-High+ proficiency in Spanish (C1 and above).
- Strong communication skills, both orally and written.
- Ability to use technology, including Google Suite and Microsoft Office.

- Experience in a dual-language immersion classroom.
- Familiarity with classroom management techniques.
