About the position

As a Special Education Teacher- Partial Inclusion at Neighborhood House Charter School (NHCS), you will play a crucial role in the academic and social emotional development of students with mild intellectual impairments and varied learning profiles. Your primary responsibility will be to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that meets the unique needs of each scholar. You will work closely with students in both substantially separate and general education classrooms, providing necessary accommodations and modifications to facilitate their learning. Collaboration with related service providers and other support staff will be essential to ensure that each student receives the comprehensive support they need to thrive. In this role, you will be expected to build strong relationships with your students, understanding their individual learning styles and leveraging these insights to foster their academic growth. Your commitment to cultivating anti-racist, culturally responsive, and restorative practices will be vital in creating a safe and inclusive environment for all students. You will also be responsible for implementing the Common Core Curriculum and preparing students for the MCAS Alternate Assessments, ensuring that they meet educational standards while also addressing their unique learning needs. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred).
  • Special Education Certification.
  • Familiarity with WIDA frameworks preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience with the Common Core Curriculum and MCAS Alternate Assessments.
  • Two years of teaching experience preferred.
