About the position
The Middle School Special Education Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering instruction in accordance with district curriculum while ensuring the implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities. This role is crucial in providing tailored educational experiences that meet the diverse needs of students in a middle school setting.
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement lessons according to district curriculum.
- Follow and implement students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests.
- Assess and evaluate student progress and adjust instruction as necessary.
- Collaborate with other educators and support staff to enhance student learning.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and needs.
Requirements
- NJ Teacher of the Handicapped Certification or NJ Teacher of Students with Disabilities certification.
- At least one middle school content certification in any subject area.
