About the position
Maple Crest Middle STEM School is seeking a Middle School Science Teacher for grades 6-8. The position will begin with the 2024-2025 school year. The teacher will be responsible for preparing students for the changing world in which they live, providing diverse learning opportunities that utilize scientific inquiry, technological and engineering design, mathematical analysis, and project/problem-based experiences with a STEM focus. The teacher will also receive ongoing training for STEM and participate in district and building level professional development. Additionally, the teacher will revise curriculum based on STEM concepts and collaborate with other STEM teachers.
Responsibilities
- Prepare students for the changing world in which they live.
- Provide diverse learning opportunities using scientific inquiry, technological & engineering design, mathematical analysis, and project/problem-based experiences with a STEM focus.
- Receive ongoing training for STEM.
- Participate in district and building level professional development.
- Revise curriculum based upon STEM concepts.

Requirements
- Valid Indiana teaching license with middle school certification (Grades 6-8) in Science required.
- Demonstration of leadership.
- Strong skills in interpersonal communication and collaboration.
- History of using differentiated strategies in instruction.
- Demonstrated ability to integrate technology in instruction.
