About the position

The Middle School Substitute Art Teacher is a temporary, contract position responsible for delivering art education to students in an online environment. This role involves providing instruction, support, and guidance to students while managing their learning process and focusing on individual needs. The teacher will monitor student progress, communicate with families, and participate in occasional travel for school functions such as state testing.

Responsibilities

• Provides rich and engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for students
• Commits to personalizing learning for all students
• Demonstrates a belief in all students' ability to succeed and meet high expectations
• Differentiates instruction based on student level of mastery
• Augments course content according to prescribed policies and procedures using appropriate tools under guidance from principal and coach
• Maintains grade book ensuring student academic integrity and alerts administrators to concerns about student performance
• Prepares students for high stakes standardized tests
• Establishes and maintains positive rapport with families and communicates regularly with students and learning coaches
• Supports learning coaches/parents with curricular and instructional issues
• Travels as required for professional development and student testing

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• Active state teaching license
• Ability to clear required background check
