About the position
The Middle School Teacher for Family and Consumer Science/CTE is responsible for planning and providing engaging classroom learning experiences that foster the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of students. This role involves supervising students, monitoring their outcomes, and communicating effectively with various stakeholders, including parents and the community. The teacher will develop and modify instructional plans to meet diverse student needs while maintaining a conducive learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Plan and provide appropriate classroom learning experiences for students.
- Supervise students in various school-related settings.
- Monitor and evaluate student outcomes.
- Communicate and interact with students, parents, staff, and the community.
- Develop, select, and modify instructional plans and materials to meet student needs.
- Maintain appropriate records and follow required procedures and practices.
- Monitor the appropriate use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Utilize assessment strategies aligned with curriculum and standards.
- Engage in continuous professional quality improvement.
- Implement classroom instructional strategies that reflect students' cultures and learning styles.
- Collaborate with peers, parents, and community stakeholders to improve educational experiences.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Education with appropriate subject area.
- Hold or be qualified to hold a North Carolina Professional Educator's License in a teaching content area.
- Extensive knowledge of curriculum and effective classroom instructional practices.
- Considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Apps.
- Effective time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to prepare course objectives and outlines following curriculum guidelines.
- Ability to motivate and inspire students.
