About the position

The Middle School Teacher - Mathematics position involves instructing middle school students in mathematics using various teaching methods and strategies. The role requires planning and implementing lessons, assessing student progress, and maintaining discipline in the classroom. The teacher will also conduct parent-teacher conferences and participate in faculty meetings and professional development workshops.

Responsibilities

• Instructs students using various teaching methods, such as lecture, audiovisual aids, and demonstrations.
• Assigns lessons, corrects homework, and administers tests to evaluate students' progress.
• Records results and issues reports to inform parents of student progress.
• Maintains discipline in the classroom and supervises behavior outside the classroom.
• Prepares course outlines and objectives according to curriculum guidelines or state and local requirements.
• Conducts parent/teacher conferences to review students' progress, performance, and behavior problems.
• Participates in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops.
• Performs all other duties as assigned and required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher required.
• Minimum of one (1) year of teaching experience preferred.
• Certification by the State of Georgia in Education T-4 to T-7 and content area specialization as required by the GaPSC.
