About the position

The Nurse Midwife at the Center for Women's Health and Wellness is responsible for providing expert assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for complex health issues affecting individuals, families, and communities. This role encompasses various functions including practitioner, educator, consultant, and researcher, with a strong commitment to evidence-based practice and quality patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive midwifery care to patients during office visits and call shifts.
  • Lead and innovate in nursing practice to enhance patient care quality.
  • Educate patients and families about health issues and midwifery practices.
  • Consult with healthcare teams to improve patient outcomes.
  • Conduct research and incorporate findings into practice.

Requirements

  • Completion of undergraduate and graduate nursing education from an accredited school of nursing at the master's or doctoral level in Midwifery.
  • License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.
  • Ohio Certificate of Authority as a Nurse Midwife as defined by the Ohio Board of Nursing (COA).
  • National Certification as a Nurse Midwife.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Five years of clinical experience, with three years in the area of specialty preferred.
