About the position

The Control System Test and Qualification Engineer will be responsible for testing and qualifying military control systems to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and performance standards. This role involves collaboration with design and test teams, strong program management skills, and oversight of testing projects from inception to completion.

Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive test plans, procedures, and protocols for control systems.
  • Conduct system-level testing, including functional, performance, environmental, and stress tests.
  • Analyze test data using statistical and analytical tools to identify trends and anomalies.
  • Collaborate with design and development teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues identified during testing.
  • Ensure all testing activities comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in design reviews, providing feedback on testability and reliability.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports and documentation for stakeholders.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance testing processes and methodologies.
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and milestones for testing projects.
  • Coordinate and allocate resources for project success.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, tracking expenses and providing financial reports.
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, providing updates on project status.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure project success.
  • Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and resources.
  • Conduct post-project reviews to evaluate performance and implement improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of engineering experience, preferably in the aerospace industry.
  • Strong understanding of control systems, sensors, actuators, and related technologies.
  • Proficiency in using test equipment and software tools for data acquisition and analysis.
  • Experience with industry standards and regulatory requirements in aerospace.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proven experience in project management, including planning and resource allocation.
  • Must be able to obtain a DoD security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of software programming and scripting languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB).
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools and software.
