About the position
The Assistant Controller for the Military Engines Fighter & Mobility (F&M) Finance Team at Pratt & Whitney is responsible for supporting and improving the accounting, reporting, and forecasting processes for the Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) business. This role involves analyzing financial results, preparing reports, managing the program finance team, and driving process improvements to enhance financial reporting efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Analyze APU business unit monthly financial results for completeness and accuracy.
- Prepare weekly/monthly/quarterly financial reports for APU Leadership team.
- Assist with managing the program finance team and focus on training and mentoring staff.
- Report and manage Inventory and Accounts Receivables on a monthly basis to achieve targets.
- Review and analyze balance sheet items to prepare journal entries.
- Perform intercompany reconciliations and analyze annual pricing.
- Collaborate with cross functional business groups by providing support in areas such as new business campaigns, product offerings, and customer solutions.
- Drive process improvements leading to leaner and more efficient financial reporting.
- Support internal and external audits and ensure controls are adequately functioning.
- Perform ad hoc analysis and special projects as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance and 10+ years prior relevant work experience OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum of 8+ years prior relevant work experience.
- US Citizenship required due to government contracts.
Nice-to-haves
- Possess a strong working knowledge of SAP, Business Warehouse (BW), and Hyperion Financial Management (HFM).
- Should be results focused and able to balance competing and changing priorities.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Exceptional analytical skills including variance analysis, attention to detail (intellectual inquisitiveness).
