About the position

The Assistant Controller for the Military Engines APU business at Pratt & Whitney is responsible for overseeing financial processes, including accounting, reporting, and forecasting. This role requires a proactive individual who can analyze financial results, prepare reports, manage inventory and accounts receivables, and support audits. The position emphasizes collaboration with cross-functional teams and driving process improvements to enhance financial reporting efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze APU business unit monthly financial results for completeness and accuracy.
  • Prepare weekly/monthly/quarterly financial reports for APU Leadership team.
  • Assist with managing the program finance team and focus on training and mentoring staff.
  • Report and manage Inventory and Accounts Receivables on a monthly basis to achieve targets.
  • Review and analyze balance sheet items to prepare journal entries.
  • Perform intercompany reconciliations and analyze annual pricing.
  • Collaborate with cross functional business groups by providing support in areas such as new business campaigns, product offerings, and customer solutions.
  • Drive process improvements leading to leaner and more efficient financial reporting.
  • Support internal and external audits and ensure controls are adequately functioning.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and special projects as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance and 10+ years prior relevant work experience OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum of 8+ years prior relevant work experience.
  • US Citizenship required due to government contracts.

Nice-to-haves

  • Possess a strong working knowledge of SAP, Business Warehouse (BW), and Hyperion Financial Management (HFM).
  • Should be results focused and able to balance competing and changing priorities.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Exceptional analytical skills including variance analysis, attention to detail (intellectual inquisitiveness).
  • Manufacturing experience.
  • Experience working in an actual cost environment.
