About the position

Mission Technologies, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, is seeking a qualified individual to fill the role of a Military Operations Analyst 3 to support the US Sixth Fleet (C6F). This position is ideal for candidates willing to relocate or who already reside in Naples, Italy. The Military Operations Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting NAVEUR experimentation planning, design, spend plan execution, analysis, and reporting/product delivery. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with government leads from Task Force 66 (TF 66) to develop and track funding spend plans, providing monthly status reports to support the participation of Uncrewed Systems (UxS) vendors in experimentation activities. In this role, the analyst will recommend optimized schedules for UxS vendor logistics, ensuring the efficient movement of systems and equipment to the appropriate theater locations for the execution of UxS experimentation. The analyst will also be responsible for identifying and quantifying project deliverables, assessing associated risks, and recommending appropriate mitigation strategies. Collaboration with various military staff directorates, such as N4 and N7, will be essential to leverage military sea and air lift capabilities that support event execution. The analyst will coordinate with stakeholders from the Unmanned Task Force (UTF) and UxS vendor organizations to optimize schedules and logistics, facilitating performance during selected events. Additionally, the Military Operations Analyst will support TF66 in program and technical reviews related to NAVEUR Field Demonstration, providing meeting minutes and weekly status reports detailing progress, accomplishments, status, and issues. The preparation of Flag level briefs, white papers, and other documentation will also be part of the responsibilities. This position requires a strong background in military operations, particularly in the context of uncrewed systems, and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with government lead from Task Force 66 (TF 66) to develop spend plan, track funding, and provide monthly status reports to support experimentation participation of UxS vendors.
  • Recommend an optimized schedule for UxS vendor logistics to support movement of systems and equipment to appropriate theater location for execution of UxS experimentation.
  • Identify and quantify the deliverables associated with the project, and identify any associated risks and recommend appropriate mitigation needed for execution.
  • Collaborate with NAVEUR/NAVAF/SIXTHFLT Staff directorates (such as N4 and N7) to leverage military sea and air lift capabilities supporting event execution.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders from the Unmanned Task Force (UTF) and UxS vendor organizations to optimize schedules, logistics to facilitate performance during selected event.
  • Support TF66 on program and technical reviews in support of NAVEUR Field Demonstration, and provide meeting minutes.
  • Provide weekly status reports to TF 66 of NAVEUR Field Demonstration progress, accomplishments, status, and issues.
  • Preparation of Flag level briefs, white papers, and other documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field; Associate's degree in a related field and four years of specialized experience; or High School diploma and eight years of specialized experience.
  • Retired USN or USMC O-4 to O-6, USN preferred.
  • Minimum three years' experience on Combatant Command or Service Component Staff.
  • Demonstrable subject matter expertise in one or more of the following: planning and execution of uncrewed systems (UxS); technical expertise in UxS and/or payload design, configuration, and/or operation; data link systems; weapon systems sensors, afloat network and information exchange requirements, information systems, collection and/or surveillance platforms; or targeting systems.
  • Working level knowledge and skill of desktop computers, peripheral equipment, and software.
  • Experience working within an MS Windows environment.
  • Experience working with MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and use of the Internet.
  • Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Professional communication and interpersonal skills and proficiency in writing and editing skills to include text organization, style editing, punctuation, grammar, and spelling.
  • Active SECRET clearance required.
