About the position

The Milk Sample Tower Associate is responsible for safely collecting raw milk samples from arriving trucks in compliance with PMO guidelines. This role involves direct interaction with truck drivers, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and maintaining cleanliness in the sample tower area.

Responsibilities

• Directs arriving trucks into designated sample bays
• Ensures driver chocks wheels to prevent truck from moving while samples are being taken
• Safely climb and harness self into sample tower
• Positions catwalk to facilitate access to trailer dome
• Pulls proper samples and transport them to the lab on site
• Maintains cleanliness of the tower room and the yard by picking up and disposing of trash
• Conduct yard checks as designated, generally 4 times per shift
• Complete end of shift checklist within the last 30 mins of designated shift
• Accurately complete sample log and any assigned shift reports
• Assigned duties in the CIP wash bay
• Perform other duties about the trailer yard as may be assigned
• Always wears and uses assigned PPE
• Maintain a professional and cooperative demeanor with drivers and customer representatives at all times

Requirements

• Must read and write in English
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred
• Ability to safely and accurately work under tight time constraints
• Ability to communicate clearly and understand instructions received via two-way radio
• Strong commitment to teamwork and customer service
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
• Strong interpersonal skills
