About the position

The Mill Repair Employee at Freeport-McMoRan is a skilled mechanic responsible for the maintenance, installation, and repair of equipment in the milling plant. This role emphasizes safety and collaboration, ensuring that all machinery operates efficiently while adhering to safety standards. The position requires performing preventative maintenance, component replacements, and repairs on various systems, contributing to the overall productivity of the plant.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, installation, and repair of milling plant equipment including mills, conveyors, and screens.
• Assist with component replacement and repairs on conveyor systems, ball mills, auto mills, and other machinery.
• Conduct mechanical and lubrication preventative maintenance, identifying potential failures and wear.
• Maintain work orders and ensure a clean and safe work area.
• Perform work area inspections and other duties as required.

Requirements

• One year of experience in mechanical/maintenance or a combination of education and experience in industrial mechanical repair and maintenance.
• Ability to read and use schematics and blueprints.
• Completion of academic and practical competencies required for the position.
