About the position

Omni Aerospace is seeking an experienced Mill Turn CNC Programmer to join their team. This role involves developing programs to control 9-axis soft and hard metal mill-turning machines. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CNC programming, particularly with mill-turn machines, and will be committed to quality, production, and continuous improvement within a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop programs to control 9-axis soft and hard metal mill-turning machines.
• Efficiently program parts and tooling for CNC machining.
• Create setup documents and develop CNC programs from blueprints and models.
• Set up and prove out first parts with new programs.
• Collaborate with the programming department on strategy and approach.
• Assist in estimating cycle times and preparing labor/material estimates.
• Coach and work with machinists to ensure program accuracy and efficiency.

Requirements

• Experience using CAM software to program mills, lathes, or mill turns.
• Familiarity with EdgeCam and/or Catia V5 is a plus.
• Experience operating mill turn machines.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret models.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Technical background to understand mechanical assemblies.
• Ability to use micrometers and calipers.

Nice-to-haves

• Traditional milling experience is a plus.
• Experience in using verification software to prove out programs.
• Ability to concept, design, and develop work holding solutions.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a rapidly growing organization.
