About the position

Absolute Builders, a leading commercial carpentry company, is urgently seeking a skilled and experienced Millwork Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Millwork Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, planning, and overseeing the fabrication and installation of high-quality millwork projects. We are looking for an individual who can think independently, possesses a strong understanding of millwork processes, and is committed to delivering exceptional craftsmanship. In this role, you will collaborate with project managers and clients to understand project requirements and develop detailed millwork design plans that consider both aesthetic and functional aspects. You will evaluate and select appropriate materials for millwork projects, taking into account factors such as durability, cost, and aesthetic appeal. Additionally, you will oversee the fabrication and installation of millwork projects, ensuring that work meets quality standards, deadlines, and budget constraints. Regular inspections will be conducted to maintain the highest quality standards throughout the millwork process, and you will be responsible for identifying and addressing any issues or deviations from project specifications. Collaboration is key in this position, as you will work closely with architects, designers, and other team members to ensure effective communication and collaboration on millwork projects. You will also demonstrate the ability to independently solve complex millwork-related challenges and make informed decisions to keep projects on track. Maintaining detailed documentation of millwork projects, including design plans, material specifications, and progress reports, will be essential. Furthermore, staying updated on industry trends, new materials, and emerging technologies in millwork will be crucial to continuously improve processes and remain competitive in the market.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with project managers and clients to understand project requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in millwork design, fabrication, and installation.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Proficient in relevant software for millwork design.
  • Strong knowledge of woodworking techniques, materials, and construction methods.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think independently.
