About the position
The Residential Youth Caregiver position at Milton Hershey School involves married couples serving as flex houseparents in on-campus student homes. The role focuses on providing a nurturing and structured environment for a group of 8-12 students, ensuring their well-being and guiding them through daily activities. Flex houseparents will initially cover different homes before being assigned to a specific one, contributing to the overall mission of the school to support students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Responsibilities
- Guide and nurture a group of approximately 8-12 students in a family-like environment.
- Drive students to various activities and appointments.
- Administer medication and manage health-related tasks for students.
- Handle budgeting and reporting responsibilities related to student care.
- Lead students in daily devotions and accompany them to Judeo-Christian Sunday chapel services.
Requirements
- Experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from underserved settings.
- Both spouses must be legally married for at least two years.
- Both spouses should be age 27 or older.
- Valid driver's license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Demonstrate a high degree of integrity as role models for students.
