About the position

KOVAL, Chicago's oldest whiskey distillery, is seeking an upbeat, passionate, and energetic individual to serve as a Consumer Outreach Assistant in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This role is pivotal as it involves interacting with the public through tastings at retail locations, making the individual the face of the company. The Consumer Outreach Assistant will connect with consumers, creating a meaningful first impression with every patron who approaches the tasting table. The position offers flexibility in scheduling, allowing the assistant to work around their own hours while ensuring a minimum of two tastings per week, primarily on weekends. The tastings are scheduled mostly on Fridays from 4-7 PM, Saturdays from 12-3 PM and 4-7 PM, and Sundays from 12-3 PM and 4-7 PM. This role is part-time, with expected hours ranging from 10 to 20 hours a week, and it presents an opportunity for growth within a quickly expanding international brand. KOVAL was established in 2008 with a commitment to producing organic whiskey, liqueurs, and specialty spirits. The founders, Robert and Sonat Birnecker Hart, transitioned from academic careers to bring the distilling traditions of Robert's Austrian family to America. They are dedicated to crafting organic spirits from scratch, avoiding the common industry practice of purchasing and bottling pre-made spirits. KOVAL's approach emphasizes a grain-to-bottle mentality, ensuring that every step of the spirit-making process is carefully monitored, from contracting local farmers to grow the grain to the final distilling, bottling, and packaging. Responsibilities

• Conduct tastings at retail locations to engage with consumers.
• Create a positive and memorable first impression for patrons at the tasting table.
• Manage a calendar to schedule tastings effectively, ensuring a minimum of two tastings per week.
• Demonstrate crisp presentational skills during tastings.
• Maintain professional email and phone etiquette when communicating with customers and the company.

Requirements

• Must be 21 years or older.
• Availability to work weekday evenings and weekends when most tastings occur.
• Crisp presentational skills and attention to detail.
• Administrative experience is required.
• Sales experience is a plus but not mandatory.
• Must have a vehicle and a valid driver's license.
