About the position

The Mind-Body Director at Cooper Aerobics Enterprises Inc. is responsible for leading and expanding mind-body programs, including yoga and Pilates, while fostering a holistic health environment. This role combines managerial expertise with teaching experience to create a welcoming atmosphere for members and ensure high-quality wellness services.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage a comprehensive Mind-Body schedule that caters to a diverse clientele and aligns with industry trends.
  • Oversee revenue generation of the Pilates Program, including client billing, payroll, and equipment maintenance.
  • Ensure classes provide a mix of intensity, format, and variety, incorporating innovative and on-trend fitness options.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise a team of certified yoga and Pilates instructors.
  • Facilitate ongoing professional development to enhance instructor performance and keep the team informed of emerging fitness trends.
  • Conduct regular assessments and provide feedback to instructors, ensuring delivery of consistent, high-quality classes.
  • Build strong relationships with members, gaining insights into their fitness goals and preferences.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to promote yoga and Pilates programs, increase member participation, and enhance retention.
  • Handle member inquiries, feedback, and concerns with a high level of customer service.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized group exercise environment, upholding the luxury standards of Cooper Fitness Center.
  • Manage and create budgets for the mind-body program, including instructor payroll, equipment, and maintenance.
  • Track and analyze attendance and other performance metrics to continuously improve program offerings.
  • Be a team player and perform additional duties as needed.
  • Attend departmental and company-wide meetings.
  • Fill in for other program functions when necessary.
  • Perform any other duties and responsibilities that may be required.
  • Uphold the COOPER CARES mission statement and attributes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Health & Wellness, Exercise Science, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a management or leadership role within a wellness or mind-body practice setting.
  • Certified in Yoga, Pilates, or similar mind-body disciplines from recognized organizations.
  • Reformer equipment certification preferred.
  • Strong background in wellness programming and a deep understanding of various mind-body modalities.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications (must be obtained within 60 days of hire).
