About the position
The position is responsible for managing regulatory compliance for all Shelly mining properties in the Southern Division, supporting the mine planning department through data analysis, report generation, map creation, and technical document preparation. The role also involves maintaining and renewing permits, conducting reserve analysis, and ensuring wildlife site certification, while collaborating with various stakeholders and government agencies.
Responsibilities
- Manage and submit documentation required by regulatory agencies to ensure compliance of active and inactive mine sites.
- Coordinate with environmental and legal consultants to complete and submit wetland and zoning permits.
- Provide technical expertise and recommendations for reclamation activities at mine sites.
- Facilitate agreements with neighboring landowners of mine sites.
- Assist in maintaining certification status of wildlife sites and coordinate related events.
- Support short, medium, and long-range mine planning activities.
- Assist in surveying, planning, and design for mine site operations.
- Plan and conduct exploration projects for existing and Greenfield operations.
- Assist in property acquisitions and sales.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or associate's degree in engineering, geology, earth sciences, or equivalent preferred; or two to four years of related experience and/or training.
- Proficient with MS Office product suite and experience with CAD preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence effectively.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.
