About the position
The Mine Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing underground mining equipment and various machinery. This role requires a strong mechanical knowledge, the ability to work safely both independently and as part of a team, and flexibility for on-call schedules. The technician will perform preventative maintenance and ensure all equipment operates safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic mining equipment, conveyor belts, ore loadout equipment, and mobile and stationary diesel equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks such as greasing, changing oil, and inspecting for defects.
- Install and change motors, chains, gear boxes, transmissions, differentials, and perform suspension work.
- Conduct cutting (Oxy and acetylene) welding and rigging procedures.
- Perform pre-shift inspections to ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Minimum two years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in underground mining.
- Ability to provide own basic American-made mechanic hand tools in both metric and SAE up to 1 ¼ SAE and 30mm.
- Ability to read and understand electrical, structural, and hydraulic drawings.
- Availability to work a call-out schedule for a 24/7 operation.
